ELEC70100 Research Project: MSc Future Power Networks

Aims

The individual research project is the culmination of your postgraduate studies and constitutes a piece of individual research that is expected to have some element of originality and scientific rigour. For this module you will complete an individual research project in your chosen area of research that would require you to adopt analytical, computation and/or experimental methods. You will be supervised by an academic who is expert in the topic area of the project. Projects in industry are also permitted under the co-supervision of an academic staff and needs to be approved by the course director.

Learning Outcomes

On successfully completing this module, you should be able to: Plan and manage a research project over an extended period; Take personal responsibility for your work; Tackle open-ended research work and apply prior theoretical knowledge to practical situations; Critically review information from a wide range of sources; Adopt appropriate analytical, computational and/or experimental methods to meet your project objectives; Communicate the outcomes of the project work effectively and accurately in both a written and oral format.
